The Power of the Right Team – Executing the FlexOnyx Vision

At FlexOnyx, we’ve done something that few in the plastics-to-fuels space have managed to achieve; we’ve created a replicable refinery development template—one that can be adapted and deployed in virtually any region of the world. From site selection to engineering and permitting, procurement, construction, and operation, our model is robust, flexible, and grounded in proven technology. The FlexOnyx approach is the backbone of a scalable solution to the global plastic waste crisis.

But even the most brilliant blueprint is only as effective as the team entrusted to bring it to life.

When you’re developing a major energy facility—one designed to take in up to 1.6 million tons of plastic waste per year and produce high-value sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD) and naphtha—success is not just about process flow diagrams and plant specs. It’s about execution. And execution comes down to people.

Why the Right Team Matters

Building a refinery is a monumental effort. It involves hundreds of moving parts, tight timelines, regulatory hurdles, engineering challenges, and significant financial oversight. Any misstep can result in costly delays or even derail a project entirely. That’s why assembling a first-class team—one that understands how to navigate complexity with confidence—isn’t just important. It’s essential.

At FlexOnyx, we’ve identified the exact structure and composition of the core team needed to deliver the project from concept to commissioning. And we’re ready to activate this team the moment funding is secured.

Who’s on the Team?

While many of the day-to-day tasks will be handled by best-in-class firms through contracts and other partnerships, a strong internal development team is critical. This team is responsible for managing contractors, safeguarding the project vision, and making sure everything stays on track.

Here’s what that core execution team includes:

– Owner’s Engineers – These are the technical experts who act on behalf of the project owner (that’s us) to validate designs, manage interfaces between disciplines, and ensure that what’s being built is what we actually need. They keep the contractors honest and the specifications tight.

– Project Managers – These individuals are the conductors of the orchestra. They keep the schedule, budget, and execution aligned. Their job is to anticipate issues before they arise and ensure that everyone—from lawyers to welders—is moving in sync.

– Procurement Specialists – Responsible for sourcing and ordering the critical equipment and materials, these team members must balance lead times, costs, logistics, and vendor relationships. For a plant of this size, early procurement of long-lead items is a major priority.

– Legal and Regulatory Advisors – From permitting and environmental approvals to contracts and land agreements, a strong legal and regulatory team ensures the project clears all hurdles without delays.

– Finance and Risk Officers – This team ensures budget discipline, funding compliance, and risk mitigation. They manage everything from insurance to scenario planning—essential functions for investors and lenders alike.

– Operations Integration Specialists – Because we’re building something meant to run profitably and reliably, we need people focused on how the plant will function once it’s live. That means attention to staffing, training, and operational readiness from day one.

Credentials Are Key—But So Is Attitude

We’re building FlexOnyx with people who have done this before—veterans of the refining, petrochemicals, and infrastructure industries who have delivered billion-dollar projects around the world. Experience matters. So do credentials. But what sets our team apart is more than what’s on their resumes.

It’s their mindset.

They’re builders. Problem solvers. People who see obstacles not as roadblocks, but as puzzles to be solved. They bring energy, optimism, and grit to the table. They believe in what we’re doing—not just as a business, but as a mission.

We’ve already begun assembling this team and identifying key individuals and firms. They’re ready to roll. A significant portion of our initial funding will go directly toward hiring and mobilizing this team. This isn’t overhead—it’s the engine of execution. Without it, even the best plan sits idle.

Ready to Go—At Scale

Our execution model doesn’t just work for one facility. It’s scalable. Once the first plant is up and running, the same team—along with our replicable development playbook—can be redeployed to build out new locations. That’s how we go from one refinery to a global network, each helping to eliminate plastic waste while producing fuels the world needs.

And it starts with the team.

At FlexOnyx, we believe execution is everything—and we’ve got the right people, experience, and passion to deliver. Because solving the plastic waste crisis isn’t just about having a plan. It’s about having the right people to make it real.
